CHIE IMAI's handcrafted MORRIS wins double gold medals at the world competition!

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition announced the results of its 2021 competition held in April this year on May 5, 2021.
MORRIS, a premium Kagoshima sweet potato shochu known as a "drinkable perfume" for its floral aroma, produced by luxury brand CHIE IMAI, has won a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the world's three major spirits competitions. The Double Gold is the competition's highest honor, awarded only to entries judged by all judges to be of Gold level (the highest level).
Over four days of strictly controlled blind tastings, experienced judges assess each entry to determine if its quality and taste merit a medal. Judges evaluate solely based on taste, without any information about the producer or price, ensuring each spirit is judged fairly.
At CHIE IMAI, we produce MORRIS in Kagoshima, the heartland of shochu. This marks the first time in history that a shochu from a fashion brand, not a traditional brewing brand, has reached the pinnacle at a world competition.
